C. A. DOBBS ACKERMANN

President and Chief Executive Officer, has literally grown up with the company, working for Ackermann Group as a boy doing what he could after school and during the summer for the business. Along the way, Dobbs has used his leadership skills, vision for growth, public speaking and municipal relationship building skills to help Ackermann Group continue to grow.

Dobbs has gained experience and education in real estate with formal training in heavy equipment operation, site work, drainage, landscaping, plumbing, concrete, roofing and finishing. He has onsite operations experience in real estate for office, retail and apartments as well as day-to-day experience in sales, marketing and leasing. Dobbs is experienced in government approval processes including permitting, variances, zone changes, smart code over lays and planned developments. Dobbs has development experience including subdivisions, retail, office, apartments and housing. He has public funding experience with tax increment financing, industrial revenue bonds, new market tax credits and revenue agreements (state and municipal).

Dobbs is dedicated to making our region one of the most vibrant places to live, work and reside. His lifelong service to Ackermann Group and the unique vision he has implemented through the years has resulted in the continued growth of the company and has created a workplace in which the team members can thrive.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dobbs is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts.

GREGORY A. LONG

Chief Operations Officer joined Ackermann Group in 1999. He is responsible for the day-to-day running of all aspects of the company. He currently heads our Human Resource and Risk Management Departments, oversees the Property Management division and assists the ongoing Acquisition and Development projects. His experience with Ackermann Group began as a Project Manager and was followed by time spent as Controller and an Executive Vice President. This experience has helped Greg to understand the everyday needs of the company and the residents, clients and investors Ackermann Group serves.

Greg is a graduate of Wilmington College and is a former Fraternity Alumni President. He has also served as the Athletic Booster President for his local school district and enjoys supporting numerous charitable causes.

JOHN R. WENDT

Chief Financial Officer brought his considerable professional experience to Ackermann Group in 2000. His responsibilities include coordinating all aspects of finance for new real estate development, equity placement and maintenance. Additionally John interacts with external CPAs, leasing and sale negotiations with tenants and builders. He also provides oversight and accountability for multi-family development, contract review and negotiation and strategic planning facilitation.

Driven by challenge and success, John values loyalty, integrity and the entrepreneurial spirit. A highly sought after business counselor, John founded the strategic implementation firm Business Implementation Services of the Midwest, LLC and co-founded H. K. Campbell & Company, a regional CPA and consulting firm.

A CPA with his B.S. from Purdue University, John volunteers with the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Audit Committee of the Lutheran Social Services.

CHRISTOPHER W. KOHNEN

Director of Acquisitions & Real Estate Investment joined Ackermann Group in 2006 to build the real estate investment business. His responsibilities include targeting, analyzing and purchasing apartment assets to grow Ackermann Group’s expanding real estate portfolio. Additionally, Chris is responsible for attracting private equity and managing investor relationships. Since 2006 he has lead the acquisition of $197 million of real estate raises $36 million of private equity and $17 million of public funding.

Chris has over 20 years of experience investing, managing and selling properties. Prior to joining Ackermann Group, he was responsible for the oversight of multiple asset classes from rental condominiums to hotel and fractional club resorts for a national property management firm.

Chris is a graduate of Xavier University. He is the Managing Broker at Ackermann Group, holding his Real Estate Broker’s License in the State of Ohio. In addition, he is a member of the local, state and national Apartment Association, serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Apartment Association and the Apartment Association Outreach Inc.
